What causes an early detection time?

Early detection events can be triggered by matrix interference i.e acid/ CO (2) being produced by the product.

Product sits on top of the agar plug and diffuses down into the solid part of the vial causing the plug to change colour but the broth to stay the same.

Sample is naturally contaminated with a microbial load of >10 ^6 cfu/g or ml unlikely but possible.

Parameters are too sensitive and require adjustment.
