The NF-TVC Vial detects both fermenting and non-fermenting organisms. What does this this mean?

Fermentation is the process in which a substance breaks down into a simpler substance. Non fermenters are unable to catabolise glucose. CO2 is produced when bacteria grow and respire and can therefore be detected in the NF-TVC vial.
